Regarding the Mountain View station: Are you 100% sure that they will close this station? Logistically, it makes sense, and is something that I have suggested be done several times on the railroad.net forum. However, I have never seen any official word from NJT that this station would actually close. Given that close station spacing is common on the Montclair/Boonton lines, it is probably quite insignificant.

I pass by the construction site every day, and it looks like they are making some decent progress now. From what I thought was going to be just a surface lot now shows some signs that a foundation for a deck is being laid.

They’re going to put 1,000 spaces there, so that’s a big lot.

I couldn’t find any info on the project on the NJT web site, so, no, I’m not 100% sure the old station will be closed. Perhaps someone from NJT would be kind enough to provide more info.
