Secaucus Jct to Giants Stadium

It’s nice to see that NJ Transit will provide shuttle bus service from Secaucus Junction to Giants Stadium for the Live Earth concert on July 7. NJT will also run extra trains on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, and Morristown lines. Now if only they could run shuttle buses for all events at the Meadowlands. But with the Meadowlands charging up to $15 a car to park there, I suspect there’s pressure on NJT to not improve service.
On a related note, the Live Earth people are promoting the concert at Giants Stadium as being in New York. Maybe someone could send them a map.

So that explains what I saw yesterday. I took a rare trip to NYP to get to the LIRR. (I usually go only to Newark or Hoboken and take PATH or the 126 or Trans-Bridge to PABT). From my vantage point, whatever Bergen/Main passengers heading to Manhattan there were took other trains. Secaucus functioned only as an intra-Jersey transfer point. On the 7:21am eastbound Coast train out of Newark, at Secaucus, 5 people go off and nobody got on. On the 10:14 westbound Coast train from NYP, no one got off at Secaucus, but a mob of yuppies got on.
