|
This page describes what information we collect when you visit our web site.
The New Jersey Association of Railroad Passengers (NJ-ARP) does not collect
personally-identifying information about individuals unless that individual
explicitly chooses to provide such information. Personally-identifying
information is only collected if the individual subscribes to our
Hotline mailing list, sends us
e-mail, completes our
feedback form, joins
NJ-ARP via the web site or postal mail, or registers on the
NJ-ARP Blog. We do not sell
any information that we collect to third parties.
When our web site is accessed, we collect the following information which
does not identify you personally: your IP address (the network address
from which you access the Internet), the date & time, which web pages
of ours that you access, the web page which linked to our site, and browser
& operating system information provided by your web browser. This information
is used for internal statistical purposes and to help improve our web site.
The online calendar and blog also use browser cookies for operational purposes,
but the main portion of the NJ-ARP web site does not use cookies.
If you subscribe to our Hotline mailing list, you
are providing us with your e-mail address and your name. We use this information
to send you an e-mail notification when the Hotline is updated. You will
receive the notification approximately once per week. We will not distribute
your e-mail address to others.
If you send us e-mail or use our
feedback form, you are identifying yourself to
us. We use and save the information you provide to respond to your comments
or questions. If you are commenting on NJ-ARP's public positions or opinions
(for example, a position paper or Hotline item), we reserve the right to
respond publicly and to include your name and e-mail message (but not your
e-mail address) in our response. In some cases, we may forward your e-mail
message, including your e-mail address, to others if they can help provide
the information you need. If the content of your e-mail is confidential,
please indicate that it is, and we will honor your request.
If you join NJ-ARP online or send us a
membership application by postal mail, we use
the information for standard membership purposes including but not limited
to sending newsletters, membership renewals, and NJ-ARP election ballots
by postal mail, and contacting you by telephone or e-mail with information
regarding NJ-ARP activities. Additionally, if you join online, you are providing
information to our authorized retailer, 2checkout.com, so they may charge
the membership fee to your credit or debit card. The 2checkout.com pages
which process your order may use browser cookies. NJ-ARP does not
have access to your credit or debit card number.
If you register on the NJ-ARP Blog,
you are required to provide your name and a valid e-mail address. The blog
software uses your e-mail address to send you your initial password, but
your e-mail address will not be published on the blog site. The
information you provide is retained in the blog's database. Although we will
not sell your e-mail address to third parties, we may contact you via
e-mail regarding NJ-ARP activities, including solicitations for NJ-ARP
membership.
